Winlator Ludashi Older Version
An older build can be useful when a game worked with a particular setup and a newer release changes that behavior. This page covers Ludashi 4.0 and 3.1 Hotfix, with separate downloads so you can choose a specific release rather than guessing from an APK filename.
Going back is a compatibility experiment, not a guaranteed performance upgrade. Graphics drivers, Wine versions, container settings and the game itself all affect the result. Keep your working setup and save files backed up before changing anything.

Earlier 4.x release. Back up containers before the required fresh installation.
3.1 branch with shortcut, HUD and file manager fixes. Reinstallation required.
Choose a Winlator Ludashi older version
Version 4.0 introduced a major interface rewrite using Jetpack Compose, new renderer work and experimental DisplayX composition. It also added Proton 9, 10 and 11 options. These changes make it a different starting point from the earlier interface and graphics pipeline.
The 3.1 Hotfix release focuses on repairs within the 3.1 branch. Its changes include broken shortcuts, the HUD disappearing in some games, file manager display problems and an option to hide the cursor when simulated touchscreen input is enabled.
| Build | Useful comparison | Installation note |
|---|---|---|
| 4.0 | New interface and experimental DisplayX | Fresh installation required |
| 3.1 Hotfix | Earlier branch with shortcut and HUD fixes | Reinstallation required |
What you give up by rolling back
The current 4.1 branch includes later display, rendering and compatibility fixes. An earlier release will not contain all of those changes. If your problem is a black screen, trying the older package may also remove a fix intended for that exact symptom.
Write down what stopped working first. A reproducible issue, such as the same game closing immediately after launch, is easier to compare than a general impression that the phone feels slower. Use the same resolution and game scene for both tests.
Back up before removing your installed build
Do not assume that uninstalling keeps a container intact. Windows programs, installed components and saves may live inside app storage. Copy important files to an ordinary folder you can access independently of the app, and confirm the copies are readable.
- Record your Wine version, graphics driver, DX wrapper and CPU preset.
- Export a container if your installed build provides a working export option.
- Copy game saves, custom controls and configuration files separately.
- Keep the existing APK if you expect to restore the original setup.
Install and compare one build at a time
Download the chosen APK on this page and open it using Android’s package installer. Allow installation for the app handling the file if Android requests it. The listed releases require reinstallation; do not expect a normal update over a different branch to preserve everything.
After setup finishes, create a clean test container. Add one compatible Windows program and use a simple configuration first. Importing a whole container from another branch can bring across settings or components that the older release does not understand.
Change one setting between tests. If you lower the resolution, replace the driver and switch the CPU preset together, you will not know which change helped. Check whether the game saves correctly before spending time on touch controls.
If the older build will not install or launch
An installation conflict can come from an existing package with the same identity or an incompatible signature. Back up before removing that installation. A failed download can also cause a package parsing error, so check that the file finished downloading.
A game crash after installation is a separate problem. Try a fresh container and review graphics compatibility before assuming that every old release has the same fault. If the earlier branch gives no clear benefit, restoring your previous working setup is usually more useful than collecting additional APKs.
Frequently asked questions
Which older build should I try first?
Choose the release closest to the setup that previously worked for your game. If you have no working reference, start with the current branch before moving backward.
Can an older APK improve frame rates?
It can behave differently, but there is no universal improvement. Compare the same game, scene, resolution and settings, and include crashes or graphical errors in your decision.
Can I keep my existing containers?
Keep independent backups, but do not assume that containers move cleanly between branches. A fresh container is the clearest way to test an older installation.
